Architectural Standards Committee (ASC)
The Architectural Standards Committee (ASC) works to enhance and preserve the natural beauty, harmonious design, quality of life and sense of community in Semiahmoo.
Committee Charter
The Architectural Standards Committee Charter outlines the purpose and mission of the Committee, establishes responsibilities and deliverables, and discusses membership and process.
Meeting Minutes
The ASC typically meets monthly and sometimes more frequently. Meeting notices are announced in advance on the SRA website and community members are welcome to attend the meetings. Written Minutes of these meetings are published and posted on the website.
Landscape Sub-Committee
This non-voting volunteer group provides landscape design and general gardening advice to both the ASC and the Maintenance Committee.
Standards for Residential Construction
These Standards guide owners and their contractors who are pursuing new construction and major exterior remodel projects. They are published by the ASC, approved by the Board, and consistent with the SRA CC&Rs.
Multi-Family Construction Standards
These Standards are a supplement to the Standards for Residential Construction specifically addressing the construction of multi-family dwellings.
Construction Permit Application
After receiving a Building Permit from the City of Blaine, a permit from the ASC must also be obtained. The process starts with the submission of an application package, followed by an in-person meeting.
Landscape Standards
Landscaping is integral to preserving the consistent and harmonious look and feel of Semiahmoo. These Standards guide owners and their contractors who are pursuing new landscaping construction or major landscape alterations. They are published by the ASC, approved by the Board, and consistent with the SRA CC&Rs.
Tree Management Guidelines
Most neighborhoods in Semiahmoo have forested topography and trees are integral to the look and feel of our community. These Guidelines govern tree removal, retention, and replacement.
Lot Maintenance Guidelines
Owners of undeveloped lots are required to maintain their vacant property as summarized in these guidelines.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As it states in CC&R 10.03 - No improvements of any nature whatsoever shall be constructed, altered, added to, or maintained upon any Site, or any part of the Property, except (a) such improvements are approved by the ASC in accordance with this Article X, or (b) improvements which pursuant to this Article X do not require the consent of the ASC. A list of those not requiring ASC review should follow immediately. They are: (a) replacement (including repainting) of a portion of a structure using the same materials and color and not changing the size or shape of the improvement. These require reporting to the ASC (using the reporting form) PRIOR TO starting the project. (b) Landscaping of less than 25% of the landscapable portion of the lot. (c) Interior modifications that do not alter the outside of the building or structure. If there is any doubt as to whether a report of request is required, the ASC Administrator should be contacted.
